"Web-Enhanced CDs"
-
- Why settle for giving your fans only music on your CD? Give them a "Web-Enhanced CD", with
clickable links to your website, email, as well as:
- song lyrics
- band/artist bio
- pictures
- videos
- and anything else that is viewable on a computer screen.
- How It Works
-
- Inserting the disc into a computer will result in TWO disc
icons. The first one contains the music part of the CD (the same
as with any other music CD). The second one will contain a
document that when clicked on, will launch the default web browser
on the user's computer. They will then see a page that can contain
literally anything you want, such as links to your website, a link
to send you mail, etc. Maybe a link to a page on your site that
shows where you will be playing this month? Maybe a link to a page
where fans can buy your other CDs? The possibilities are
endless.
-
- This info will always be "current", because it links to the
web itself, not merely a document that was created when your CD
was manufactured.
-
- This feature can be added to any CD, including older releases
that are due for a new manufacturing run.
Here
are a few examples:
- Click on an example to see what a page residing on a CD could look like.
- Clicking on the link(s) on the example pages will take you to the artist's actual website(s).
